FAQ’s

Fine Art Photos

  • All photographs are either printed on Fuji Matt Photo Paper or on sustainable fine art Giclee paper. Each photo designates which medium they are printed on.

Photos are printed on Fuji Matt Photo Paper which is a silver-based digital, archival C-Print photo prints used by professional photographers and galleries worldwide. It is a bright white paper with a smooth, minimal texture, a slight satin sheen and offers a weight of 231 GSM.

Select photos are printed on Ilford Cotton Textured Giclee paper which is a highly textured fine art paper with warm whites, a matt texture and offers a weight of 310 GSM.

  • Giclee prints involve using a very highly calibrated and fine resolution inkjet printer to print using pigment inks onto professional art papers. These prints offer an archival life of 80+ years. This is typically the main choice for fine artists who offer print editions.

Frames

  • All frames are box frames, where the print is set back by roughly 1 inch away from the anti-reflective glass.

Our museum quality picture frames are made using the finest sustainably sourced materials.  All woods are solid and do not use any composite materials. The quality & archival properties of the picture frames are FSC certified and made with 100% acid free materials.

Each frame is hand-made and hand-finished with all corners glued, sealed and sanded, achieving a completely seamless, smooth feel.

Museum grade anti-reflective art glass gives an invisible finish to allow the art to be celebrated.

    We offer three frame varieties:

White - a contemporary, solid and smooth white finish. Black - an elegant, deep satin finish. Natural Oak - a solid wood with subtle warmth.

  • Each of our frames includes pre-installed hardware that makes them ready to hang. Depending on the size and weight of the final framed photograph, either D-Rings and Cord or Strap Hangers are pre-installed on the frame. It is important to note that each frame does not include mounting hardware such as screws, wall anchors, etc. Consult a professional about the wall substrate and the appropriate wall anchors required.

Sustainability

  • We partnered with the USA’s premier fine art and photographic printing service that is 100% end-to-end carbon neutral and an end-to-end carbon neutral service. This means minimized energy usage and the use of suppliers of renewable energy. Where unavoidable, all of their carbon emissions are offset via The Gold Standard, for a safer climate and more sustainable world.

The materials used to produce orders have been carefully selected to reduce the impact on the environment.

The Fine Art Paper manufacturers only use resources from sustainable forest management areas. This program ensures the preservation and protection of biodiversity, the renewal of the forests habitats and decreasing the impacts of exploitation of forest areas for future generations. The paper made at their mills is certified for the traceability of the wood fibers from an origin of non-threatened forests.

The Photo Prints are printed on Fuji crystal archive paper and processed with Fuji chemistry. Fuji’s production processes operate exclusively on wind energy and they also generate their own energy with five wind turbines and a large afterburner. They have also pioneered a water purification plant with adjoining companies. Fujifilm adheres to regulation using the S class system that places restrictions on those substances that can and potentially do pose threats to the environment and public health. It is known that the c-print process uses a precious metal, silver, as its fundamental component to achieve high quality photographic prints. Silver is the raw material used to make the light sensitive emulsion that is suspended on the paper to generate our photographic prints. The silver residue and by-products of the photographic process are valuable raw materials that are extracted and recycled after the prints have been made.

Sustainable packaging - Yes, all the packaging used for orders are a mixture of sustainably sourced, recyclable or biodegradable materials.

Another step in reducing emissions is by using green couriers where available, only using renewable energy suppliers. Print facilities are global which means air travel is reduced when shipping your orders.
